Operatives of the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) have reportedly arrested popular social media personality, “Agreement Is Agreement,” after months of intense surveillance and manhunt.
According to sources familiar with the development, the suspect was apprehended on Saturday evening at the Seme border while allegedly attempting to escape from Nigeria into the Benin Republic.
Insiders disclosed that the fugitive had allegedly gone into hiding for several months before her movement was finally tracked by security operatives.
Allegedly Disguised as a Man
A source close to the operation revealed that the suspect was allegedly disguised as a man and was in possession of what authorities suspect to be a forged passport in what appeared to be a desperate attempt to evade arrest.
However, the plan reportedly failed when alert Immigration officers became suspicious during a routine screening exercise at the border post.
“Her behavior raised suspicion, and officers decided to carry out a more thorough verification. That was when her true identity was uncovered,” the source said.
Drama at the Border
Eyewitnesses at the scene described the arrest as dramatic, claiming the suspect allegedly attempted to resist arrest after being identified.
She was, however, quickly overpowered and taken into custody by officers on duty.
Following the arrest, the suspect was reportedly transferred to Abuja for further interrogation and investigation by relevant authorities.
Authorities Vow Justice
Security officials have assured the public that the case will be thoroughly investigated and that justice will be served in accordance with the law.
Authorities also stressed that no individual, regardless of influence or connections, would be allowed to escape accountability.
The development has since sparked reactions across social media, with many Nigerians closely following the unfolding situation.
There are also indications that security agencies may move to take control of some of the suspect’s social media platforms as investigations continue.
PressNGR will continue to monitor the situation and provide verified updates as more details emerge.
