Pakistan Hosts Saudi, Turkish, Egyptian Diplomats Over Iran War

Pakistan is hosting top diplomats from Saudi Arabia, Turkey, and Egypt as efforts intensify to reduce tensions over the ongoing US-Israel war on Iran.
The two-day meeting, which began in Islamabad on Sunday, is being led by Pakistan’s Foreign Minister, Ishaq Dar, as the country positions itself as a mediator in the growing Middle East crisis.
Pakistan Steps In as Mediator
According to reports, Pakistan has been quietly playing a key diplomatic role by helping to pass messages between the United States and Iran in a bid to encourage dialogue and avoid a wider regional war.
Pakistan’s Prime Minister, Shehbaz Sharif, also confirmed that he had a lengthy phone conversation with Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian ahead of the talks.
Sharif said the discussion focused on the current conflict and possible ways to restore peace in the region.
Hormuz Passage Eased for Pakistan
In a related development, Ishaq Dar disclosed that Iran has allowed 20 more Pakistani-flagged ships to pass through the Strait of Hormuz, easing concerns over possible disruption to trade and shipping.
The Strait of Hormuz remains one of the world’s most sensitive oil and trade routes, especially amid rising tensions in the Gulf.
Focus on Diplomacy
Observers say the Islamabad meeting may mark the beginning of a fresh diplomatic push to prevent the war from expanding further.
With the conflict already drawing in regional players, many are now watching closely to see whether the talks in Pakistan can produce a breakthrough.
Fears of Wider Conflict Grow
Tensions rose further after Yemen’s Houthi rebels, who are aligned with Iran, reportedly launched fresh attacks on Israel, while the United States continues to send more troops into the Middle East.
The latest developments have increased fears that the conflict could spread across the region if urgent diplomatic steps are not taken.
