Lokoja, Kogi State – Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo has appointed the Kogi State Commissioner for Commerce and Industry, Alhaji Muhammed Muktar Shuaibu, as a member of the Kogi State National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) Governing Board.
The inauguration of the board took place in Lokoja, where Governor Ododo was represented by the Deputy Governor, Comrade Joel Oyibo.
Speaking during the inauguration, the Deputy Governor reaffirmed the Kogi State Government’s commitment to youth development and the promotion of national integration through the NYSC scheme. He also commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for what he described as bold reforms aimed at repositioning the NYSC for greater efficiency and improved service delivery.

According to him, members of the governing board were carefully selected based on their integrity, wealth of experience, proven competence, and dedication to public service.

He charged the newly inaugurated members to provide effective coordination, strategic direction, and stronger collaboration among stakeholders at both the state and local government levels to enhance the success of the NYSC programme in Kogi State.
Responding on behalf of the appointees, Commissioner for Commerce and Industry, Alhaji Muhammed Muktar Shuaibu, expressed appreciation to the state government for the confidence reposed in them. He pledged that the board members would discharge their responsibilities diligently and work collectively to justify the trust placed in them.
The newly inaugurated Kogi State NYSC Governing Board comprises:

2. Distinguished Hon. Abdullahi Bello, Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs

5. Commissioner for Education

7. Commissioner of Police, Kogi State Command

The inauguration of the board is expected to strengthen the administration and oversight of the NYSC scheme in Kogi State, while supporting government efforts to advance youth empowerment, national unity, and sustainable development.
