PressNGR – Dangote Petroleum Refinery & Petrochemicals has announced another reduction in the ex-depot price of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), marking the fourth downward review of petrol prices within one month.

The latest adjustment sees the refinery cut the ex-depot price of PMS by N50 per litre, bringing the gantry price down to N1,075 per litre.

According to the company, the new reduction raises the total decrease in the ex-depot price of petrol to N200 per litre since May 30, 2026, despite the refinery continuing to process crude oil that was purchased at significantly higher international prices.

In addition to the reduction in petrol prices, Dangote Refinery disclosed that it has also lowered the ex-depot price of Automotive Gas Oil (AGO), commonly known as diesel, by N300 per litre during the same period. The price of Jet A1 aviation fuel has also been reduced by N520 per litre.

The company stated that the successive price cuts reflect its commitment to transferring the benefits of lower production costs and favourable market conditions directly to consumers.

Dangote Refinery noted that while international crude prices and operational costs remain key factors in refining economics, it remains focused on ensuring that Nigerians enjoy more affordable petroleum products without compromising the long-term sustainability of its operations.

The latest announcement is expected to provide relief to fuel marketers, transport operators, businesses, and millions of Nigerians who have continued to grapple with high energy costs.

Industry stakeholders believe the continued moderation in fuel prices by the refinery could further stimulate competition in Nigeria’s downstream petroleum sector and potentially lead to lower pump prices across the country as marketers adjust to the new ex-depot rates.
