
The Rector of Kogi State Polytechnic, Professor Salihu Sanusi Avidime, has approved the appointment of two key officers as part of efforts to strengthen administrative efficiency and institutional service delivery. The appointments, announced today, April 10, 2026, underscore the Rector’s commitment to repositioning the Polytechnic for optimal performance.
The strategic appointments are part of ongoing reforms aimed at reinforcing critical administrative units of the institution, ensuring that competent and experienced personnel are entrusted with responsibilities that directly impact accountability, transparency, and operational effectiveness.
Mr. Jonathan Bako, a Chief Accountant in the Bursary Department of the Polytechnic, has been appointed as Chief Store Officer. With a solid background in financial management, accountability, and resource control, his wealth of experience is expected to bring enhanced transparency, prudent inventory management, and improved coordination in the handling of institutional stores.
Similarly, Mr. Ovada Ustaz Yunusa, an Auditor II in the Directorate of Internal Audit, has been appointed as Chief Procurement Officer. Drawing from his professional expertise in audit practices, compliance, and due process, he is well positioned to strengthen procurement systems meticulously, ensuring accountability, value for money, and strict adherence to regulatory standards in all procurement activities of the Polytechnic.
While congratulating the newly appointed officers, the Rector charged them to carry out their duties with diligence, integrity, and utmost professionalism, noting that their roles are vital to the institution’s continued drive for efficiency, prudence, and administrative excellence.
